I am offering for sale 1,000 different images of original, vintage, 1920s to 1960s hotel luggage labels on 35mm color transparency film. The groups of labels in the photos are representative of the labels in the collection and each label is actually contained in the entire collection of 5,000 different images. The total 5,000 images are also available. This EBAY listing is for 1,000 images. The labels were individually photographed on a neutral gray background with a Nikon film camera and Nikkor macro lens all on a rail with strobe lighting. I am a pro photographer and graphic designer and shot the labels onto very stable Kodachrome slide film some years ago before the present day Mac computers and Epson scanners were available. The images are super sharp and the colors are crisp.
I have a collection of 5,000 different images of hotel labels and I am separating them into 5 collections of 1,000 slides each. For example, if there are 500 images of hotels from France, each collection receives 100 images of French hotel labels. Each collection will be arranged fairly.

It is understood that you won't have the original paper images, but this offer is intended for the serious travel ephemera collector who wishes to expand the scope of his or her collection. Also to graphic design firms who wish to add to their archives of design materials to serve as future inspiration for logos and other designs. Additionally, this offer is directed to publishers who wish to publish a book, postcards and other paper. Also to garment designers and manufacturers who would design a T-shirt line and other clothing and accessories. And to licensing agents who would further expand the possibilities.
I have sold large collections of original, vintage hotel labels to collectors, corporations and museums worldwide. Two notable clients have been LVMH and The Bibliothèque Nationale of The French National Museum in Paris which acquired 12,000 different images.
I would prefer that a buyer view and pick up the collection in person in Palm Desert, California which is 2 hours from Los Angeles. One should see what one is buying. An agent or representative for the buyer could transact the acquisition. Sorry, NO RETURNS, obviously because an unscrupulous buyer could quickly hi-res scan the 1,000 images and try to return for a refund. I have been in the ad game for many years and have seen a number of unethical practices by people in the industry.
